# gronotes for Linux / gronotes für Linux ## English This package contains the native Linux x64 application, its libraries and a per-user installer. Keep the entire `bundle` directory together. Flutter and the application source code are not required on the target computer. Tested platform: openSUSE Tumbleweed x64 with KDE. Other distributions and ARM have not yet been validated. The desktop needs GTK 3 and its usual runtime dependencies; Python 3.11 or newer is required only for the installer. Download the archive and its matching `.sha256` file into the same directory. Check the checksum with `sha256sum -c` followed by the checksum filename. Extract the archive and open a terminal in the extracted package directory. ```bash # Expect a read-only installation plan; no administrator rights are needed. python3 install.py --dry-run # Expect installation for the current user under ~/.local. python3 install.py # Expect gronotes to start; it also appears in the application menu. ~/.local/bin/gronotes ``` Before updating, save open entries, finish synchronization and quit gronotes. The installer preserves application data. It does not configure autostart. To try the application without installing, run `./bundle/gronotes` from this directory. Pro is available for ten days without payment details. Afterwards, ten entries remain free. Existing entries remain readable, editable, exportable and syncable. The one-time Linux Pro purchase costs EUR 9.99 and starts in the application's settings through Stripe; there is no subscription. Linux and store purchases are separate. Payment requires an internet connection; after verified activation, Pro works offline. Back up the license with **Back up license file**. Reinstalling the app on the same Linux installation allows local backup import. After an OS reinstallation or device change, support restores Pro free after purchase ownership verification.
