What is free on iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Apple (iPhone, iPad, Mac): Ten entries in total are free, including shopping lists, recipes and homework. A whole list or recipe counts as one entry.
How do I buy the Windows app?
The Windows app is a one-time Microsoft Store purchase. It has no ten-entry limit and needs no additional in-app purchase. No subscription. The app currently costs €9.99 in the German Microsoft Store. The price shown in the Store at purchase applies. Apple purchases do not automatically apply to Windows.
What does gronotes Pro unlock on Apple devices?
Apple (iPhone, iPad, Mac): The Apple one-time purchase for additional entries is configured at €9.99 in the German store. No subscription; the displayed store price applies. Existing content remains editable and exportable above the limit.
How do I restore an Apple purchase?
Restore purchases in Settings using the same Apple account. Restoration across devices has not yet been accepted in testing. Windows and Google Play have separate purchases.
What should I do before changing devices?
Export a backup first. Select the shared folder on each device yourself because folder permissions and device paths are not transferred. Check the content on the new device before giving up the previous device. Exports and storage packages are plain text without additional gronotes encryption.
What if folder access is lost or synchronization is delayed?
If permissions are lost, select the same folder again. Do not delete package files. A successful local sync does not confirm cloud delivery; also check your chosen provider and the content on the other device. Earlier versions and deletion markers are retained for conflict resolution. Deleting an entry does not automatically remove history, backups or provider copies.
Are unsaved changes preserved?
Explicitly save changes before quitting. Recovery of unsaved drafts after a crash is not guaranteed.
What information does support need?
Use the form or the existing support email on this page. The app version, operating system, device type and steps to reproduce are enough initially; attachments are not needed for this. Do not send keys, credentials or private notes. Notes, exports and purchase receipts are not automatically sent to support.
macOS supports local and user-selected folders including iCloud Drive, plus Nextcloud and HTTPS/WebDAV. Direct OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox sign-ins are currently available only on iOS. On the Mac, folders managed by installed cloud providers can be selected with the folder picker.

Try gronotes Pro for ten days without payment details. Afterwards, ten entries remain free. The one-time purchase lets you create unlimited entries. No subscription.

The Linux license is separate from store purchases and belongs to this Linux installation. Back it up to restore Pro after reinstalling the app. Notes are not sent to the payment service.
After payment confirmation, Pro unlocks automatically. Return to gronotes and use Check again if needed. After activation, Pro works offline.
Reinstalled Linux or changed devices? Support restores Pro free of charge after purchase verification. You do not need to buy again.

Move with your left thumb and drag the right side to look. Approach an object and press the interaction button. On desktop: WASD, arrow keys or right-drag to look, E to interact, Esc to pause.

Steer with on-screen buttons or tilt on devices with suitable sensors.
Race with your keyboard and customise the key bindings to suit your driving style.
Keep holding the brake briefly after stopping to reverse. The accelerator stops reverse motion, then drives forwards. The handbrake holds the car still.
Select an action, then press a key. Esc cancels.

Time attack
Start with 35 seconds. Hourglasses add 7 seconds; later they are farther apart and require bigger lane changes. Collect points and hourglasses. Dodge obstacles. The round ends at zero seconds or after three hits. The timer holds up to 60 seconds. A brief +7 s message shows a successful pickup; near the limit it shows only the time actually added.
Tilt steering
Tilt steering is on automatically on supported devices. Hold comfortably still during the countdown; tilt further to steer faster. Turn it off in Settings to use the arrow buttons.
Watch for snowballs!
After 20 seconds, children throw snowballs from the roadside in winter. Dodge the signalled throw: a hit briefly covers part of the road.
